OGV Energy welcomes you to our OGV Community event for December where we will be exploring the subject of Risk Management and Wellbeing on December 17th at 2pm.
The Energy sector, like many others, has faced one of its most challenging years to date in terms of executing operations, future planning and the consequent mental health impact of an inhibitive pandemic on its workforce.
We will be taking a look at how the energy supply chain has addressed these challenges and what more needs to be done in order to ensure safe working practices and mental health provision for the workforce of the sector.

Eric Doyle has spent 30 years in the Energy Sector. He started his professional life in Electrical engineering, having spent 10 years working offshore in the drilling sector where he eventually moved into HSEQ. Eric then begin a new chapter in his career spanning Sales, Marketing and Business development and leadership roles as Managing Director and Executive board member of Service Companies. Today, Eric spends his time coaching organisations in Strategic Social Media, Social Selling & Influence.
Mike Mann
Mike has worked globally onshore and offshore in construction, drilling and production operations working for several duty holders including BHP Billiton, Cairn Energy and Nexen, as well as service companies including RBG/Stork Technical Services where he was the Global Senior Vice President for HSSEQ.
Mike represents Repsol Sinopec on a variety of HSE industry forums and has recently had significant involvement on the OGUK Pandemic Steering Group and associated sub groups.

Mike Mann is the Head of HSE at Repsol Sinopec where he has worked for almost seven years. Carolyn Taylor
Carolyn’s background is in nursing, culminating in Carolyn holding the post of Nurse Manager in an Intensive Care Unit. She is also an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Psychotherapist with the British Association of Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and an Accredited EMDR Practitioner, Mental Health Trainer, Post Trauma Consultant and Trauma Risk Manager (TRiM), with over 20 years’ experience providing training and support across a range of industries, with a specific focus on supporting the energy industry.
Carolyn now dedicates her time exclusively to International SOS clients, working at a strategic level to drive their Health Agenda in conjunction with her medical colleagues, whilst leading our team of therapists and developing related services.

Ken Park MD, FRCSEd
After training in Edinburgh, Hong Kong and Aberdeen Ken worked as a consultant surgeon in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for 24 years during which time he established the upper gastrointestinal surgery department and at different times directed day case surgery, chaired the general surgeons and was clinical lead for surgery. He acted as an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in the UK, Bahrain, Kuwait, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong. He sat on the intercollegiate examinations committee of the joint Royal Colleges of the UK. In addition Ken established the higher surgical skills course for surgical trainees in Edinburgh and exported this to Libya, Bahrain and Ghana.
Ken conducted his MD thesis in surgical nutrition at the Rowett Institute in Aberdeen and then established an active research portfolio covering upper GI cancer, surgical nutrition, and gastro-oesophageal reflux. He is author to over 100 peer reviewed manuscripts, 5 books and two national reports. Ken became the Royal College of Surgeon’s inaugural King James IV Professor of Surgery in 2001.
Ken retired from the NHS in 2015 to establish the Aberdeen Clinic which has since joined C7 Healthcare to become TAC Healthcare. Prior to the outbreak of Covid-19 TAC Healthcare was undertaking NHS contractual work in a number of different specialties across 8 health-boards in Scotland, England and the Channel Isles together with private practice in Aberdeen. TAC had established a GP service and was developing occupational health services when Covid hit in March. Since March TAC has developed Covid screening services – performing approx 4,000 tests per week for a variety of sectors - testing oil and gas workers, the fishing industry, cruise ship crews, football clubs, performing arts and opera stars. TAC has acquired a facility close to Aberdeen airport which is currently being used for Covid testing but refurbishment as a hospital has commenced.

Donna Hutchison
As a founding member of Quensh which was established in 2006, Donna relocated to Perth, Western Australia for 20 months to develop Quensh’s Western Australia operations, returning to the UK in June 2019.
In her role, Donna’s focus is working with senior management teams on their existing risk profiles; identifying emerging risks and developing robust corporate assurance programmes. She continues to support both the UK and Australian operations, as well as Quensh’s newly launched HSEQ recruitment division.
Donna is a Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and currently serves as a Panel Member for Children’s Hearings Scotland.

Dr Jeremy Richardson
Medical Director for MCL Medics
Dr Jeremy Richardson is an emergency medicine specialist who was Clinical Director for emergency medicine in Aberdeen and Clinical Lead for the Grampian pre-hospital trauma team. He is the Medical Director of MCL Medics leading a team of specialist doctors providing remote medical services to support oil & gas installations. In addition he is Clinical Advisor and Doctor / Winchman for Babcock Search and Rescue, the provider of SAR and emergency medical retrieval for the oil & gas industry in the North Sea.
